I've got a catted 3'' y pipe and borla 3'' cat back on my blown 383. I just up graded to a ysi trim and im thinking i need a bigger exaust. Only problem I's I'm running out of money so i'm going to stick w/ this set up. My question is should i put a cut out after Y pipe? Will that make a difference in rwhp?

 

my cutout was installed after the y, but before the muffler. so basically i only bypassed the muffler and some of the flat I-pipe stock. i seen a 9rwhp gain on a stock engine, so i would imagine on a blown 383 to see 12-15rwhp gain after the Y. your cats are still going to rob you of 3-8hp each

 

15 rwhp @ $45 NOT BAD

 

With the Borla system being adjustable, I'm not sure how big of a gain your are going to get with the cutout.
