Donut Gaskets for 93-95 SLP Shorty headers

I have a set of SLP shorty headers on my `95 Z28. I`m looking for a better donut gasket that is used on each side where the y-pipe mounts to the headers. I`ve used the FelPro packing type, but they always start leaking. I did find some steel donut gaskets, but I`m wondering if there is something even better that will conform or crush. GM has these great woven steel/copper donut gaskets but I haven`t found ones that are the right size (2.5" ID).
Some of you Lingenfelter LT1 owners might have these headers too.
Thanks.

Hey Chad, when I had those headers I took the Y to Midas and went thru their gasket collection hanging on the wall out in the shop...I found a pair that fit onthey worked very well...I just can't remember if they were a generic gasket or a name brand...

Another alternative is to get some stainless V-band clamps from Jegs by Dynatech and cut off the flanges and make your own leak free connection...You may have to add a small length of stainless to make up for cutting off the flange, but they don't leak at all...I converted my slip fit Kooks to those when I went with the true duals...I think the clamps are like $43/each....I'll call you later if I didn't make sense

Update:
I used some steel donut gaskets from a local exhaust shop. While these probably don`t really crush and conform, they won`t blow out. I also cut up a pair of 3" copper 3 bolt header flange gaskets and made a copper o-ring to straddle the top and bottom of the steel donut gasket. Since my y-pipe didn`t mate up perfectly w/ the headers, I want the soft copper rings to conform to make it a totally leak proof joint. Well, after (3) 20 minute open track road race sessions at BeaveRun in August, with 90* + air temps, high humidity, 210* water and 270* oil temps, high rpm, heavy WOT, I have zero leaks and a very strong joints.

Bringing this post back from the dead. Any chance you remember the part # for the Felpro gaskets? My 93 slp shorty doughnut gaskets are gone. I did find this on Summit.

Edelbrock 6937 - Edelbrock Replacement Donut Gaskets for Edelbrock Headers

$11.95

Replacement Donut Gaskets, for Use On Shorty Headers Only, Compressed Fiber, 2 1/2 in., Universal, Pair

Wonder if this will work?

Just to have it archived for the next poor soul who tries to find this rare 2.5 inch donut gasket. You can use this one. Fits perfectly but getting the old rusted one out is a pita!

Wilson, I looked, I couldn't find the part #, but you found something equal to it. I'm pretty confident that as far as a FelPro part, places like Autozone will carry it, it was a very commonly used part on older vehicles. I sold that car in '09 and had given all my part # info to the new owner.
If I was repairing these connections again, I believe my modded donut gasket as described below is the cat's ***, it was able to handle the abuse of road racing as I ended up doing 3 more track days after that 9/07 track day and never had any problems.

I did find a felpro that was 1/32 over 2.5" . Now that I think about it it would of worked as all that rust and crap on the pipe makes it hard to slip the gasket on.

FELPRO 9587 - 2 17/32"

Also seen a bunch of metal donut gaskets for import cars on ebay. I guess this is similar to what you used. If it blows out again i'll give it a try. Thanks!
