Cut out location?
Cut out location?
I want to put a cutout in while the car is having a new cat put in. I can see 3 place it can go, right after the header, right after the cat or in the back closer to the muffler. What have you found to work the best? Any pros & cons?
I think right behind the cat would be the easiest way to go and be far enough back for the O2's. The only question would be, i would need to move the cat forward 4 inches to fit. Is this ok or does it have to be exactly where it is?
The only pro's in having it after the y pipe is it will be noticeably louder(if you like it), easier access/less wire and a slight difference in power. cons are noise(unless you dont mind), exhaust fumes, clearance and heat.
If its installed before the axle, the pros are you dont have to worry about clearance, you wont notice the heat as much, no exhaust fumes andless noise. It will be a bit harder to take the cap off, becasue its stuffed back there a bit, if its a manual cut out. If you get an electric cut out you will have to run more wire.
