Complete exhaust Question

I just picked up me '01 camaro z28 with only with 26,000 miles on it and I want to put a complete exhaust system on it. I was looking at putting on hooker super comp 1-3/4" stainless steel headers, borla 3" cat back exhaust or corsa 3" cat back exhaust. i am kinda new at putting in an exhaust system and I was wondering what y-pipe do I need and I was planning on removing the cats from the system. what other hardware do I need to even make this work if at all?

If you are going with long tube headers, then you will need the off-road y-pipe that is sold and designed to fit a long tube header. Are the headers going to have the AIR and EGR fittings? If not, then you will have to get some EGR blockoff plates and you will have to have your PCM tuned accordinally, otherwise, you will see an SES light. Also, by running without cats, you will have to either have the rear 02 sensors tuned out of your PCM or you can buy a pair of 02 simulators to prevent an SES light.

The Hooker Super comps are WELL fitting! I saw a set for the first time last week. I really had to look under the car to see them. Great ground clearance!

I personally love my Pacesetters. Great quality and the fit was exact!! Pacesetters have their own y pipe if you want to go off road but if you want to stay catted I would go with the TSP catted Y pipe that they make for LS1's. As far as a catback goes, both the ones you mentioned are great quality exhausts and it really just depends on what you want to go with.

I didn't think Hooker made stainless headers.
