borla is an overpriced cutout.

if you want a good flowing, well priced exhaust...go for a magnaflow with a $30 cutout installed.

I've got the borla setup and I absolutely love it..however it was already on the car, I could never justify spending that much on it..

I would keep your eye out in the classifides on here, you can usually pick up a used borla for 350-400 which is very fair. You won't be disappointed if you go that route.

Depends on your budget - how much are you willing to spend. If price is no object then go for the Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow, or GMMG catback systems.

If you are looking for a catback system under $400 then get a SLP Loudmouth I or II system. These work great with the stock manifolds and Y-Pipe. However be warned that if you plan to do headers (LT's) then you may want to opt for something else as the Loudmouth with LT's will be really loud, and may become a nuisance especially with noise levels inside the car.

Price isnt a really big thing when it comes to my car. i'll do anything for it. I am thinking about headers. I've never really liked SLP I dont know why but just something about it. I prolly will get some parts from there but i'm not sure about there quality. anyway what headers would be good with a borla exhaust?

If price is no object then get the Borla. Best sound and will never rust...lol

As for the overpriced cutout thing. No

Yes it has bypass plates, but even at wide (no plate) some will still make its way through the muffler and you get Borlas sound.

If you have a flowmaster and do a cutout, it sounds like a flowmaster with a cutout.
Definate distinct sound between the two setups.

most of that "sounding different" is due to the location of the cutout, and more importantly the location of the exiting exhaust note.

borla.....through a pipe and tip out the back end.

cutou.....usually under the car

if you want the best sounding exhaust....true duals!!!

Teke brings up a good point.
By the time you spend $800 on the Borla ( cat back ) you could have true duals for near that. TD's are probably the best sound on an F body you can get. Especially if coupled with long tubes

**** you can have TDs for 1/2 that...

even out the back over the axle should be less than $800 i would think, assuming you don't use some $150 (each) mufflers.

Use the stock system, put a single in/single out Hooker Aerochamber on it with a dump under the drivers side of the rear bumper.

The neat thing about the borla, it's quiet when you want it to be and LOUD when you want it to be. At cruise there is very little drone and actually quiet. Once it's above 2500 RPM it can get REALLLLLLY loud! -And raspy, but I like it.

I think I have a high tolerance for LOUD... = LT's and ORY Borla w/ no plate. I'm going to head out and take a vid today.
