I had a cutout made and installed for $25.
No muffler is going to sound the best and be the loudest. And if its a fairly stock car thats the best option. Still wont be horribly loud.

I know you cant have the best of both worlds, im just looking for a balance of the 2. Primarily sound, but volume as well

To clarify, I mean that not having any muffler is the best of both worlds.

Isnt a cutout the same thing as open headers? i ran open headers for a couple of days. Way to loud, and sounded like absolute Sh*t. I guess its opinion, but Im beggining to think flowmaster. has a nice sound to it. If I did do cutout, I think id do electric.

Even without a muffler, running exhaust all the way back is much quieter than open headers. The 6+ feet of piping acts as a giant muffler,, sorta.

Flowmaster on an lt1 flows bad and sounds like crap. If you want a muffler get the hooker (my choice) or the magnaflow.

I currently have true duals out the back with a 18" sweet thunder on each.

heres the thing. i currently have a magnaflow, and a friend of mine a hooker. Both og us started out flowmaster, till I got headers. I loved the sound, and got numerous compliments on it. After my headers, I got magnaflow. I love the sound inside the car, but it is too quiet for me.Havent had one compliment on it either. My friends(same headers, ory) has the hooker, and it sounds relatively close to my magnaflow. Both of us are missing our flows. Flowmaster does flow like sh*t on our cars, but I rarely hear complaints in regards to the sound. I would love to get gmmg, but just spent almost 4 grand freshning everything up, and adding some mods, so Im on a tight budget.

I personally think if i didnt put a cat on the car, i would like it as much..prolly would be too loud
