best sounding, loudest catback?

I know this comes up WAY to much, but im going to be a little more specific.I currently have a magnflow system on my 94 lt1 w/ lt headers, and ory. I think its a little to quiet, and want something louder. I used to have a flowmaster, with stock exhaust,no converter, and it was as loud, if not louder than my current set up. It also had a nice sound too. Im looking for a loud, but also good sounding muffler with my lts, and ORY. I would like to keep my magnaflow cat, and swap the muffler to a flowmaster or something.I dont care about hp gains. Also could I get a 40 series w/ the same in/out as the 80 series?I know gmmg is good, just a little expensive. any suggestions? thanks

Well, GMMG sounds outstanding and I guess its pretty loud. It's not loud inside the car though, so I have to go by what everyone else says. It is deffinately worth the money though, especially if you can find a cheaper used one.

well i havent really heard too much catbacks but I am going to be biased here and perfer mine, the hooker aero chamber catback. mild idle and screams when you accelerate.

I have the Pacesetter long tubes, off-road y-pipe, and the Magnaflow catback. Despite the numerous complements my setup receives, I also felt it was not loud enough. Now that I had a cheap cutout welded in, I am alot happier with it. If you want an entirely different catback, you will get alot of mixed responses. Personally, I have always been a big fan of the Hooker catback.

I like the unique sound magnaflow gives, but its not loud enough, unless im gettin on it pretty good. I have personally heard magnaflow, flowmaster, slp, borla on an f body w/o converter, and I like the flowmaster sound best of all of those. It has an aggressive sound, plus a loud idle. i know performance wise it isnt the best, but I would give up 5 hp for good sound. Does anyone know if a flowmaster muffler would fit into a magnaflow catback?

Borla with no plate is really loud since it bypasses the muffler.

I dont think the borla has a bad sound, but to me, Its a $700 straight pipe w/ Open plate. I like borla, I just hate the way it was designed for the f body

"Does anyone know if a flowmaster muffler would fit into a magnaflow catback"

if you get the 3" inlet and the proper size outlet diameters, it should fit with minimal problems. may run into some cutting to get the tips to align just right if the mufflers are slightly different in case size.

"I would like to keep my magnaflow cat, and swap the muffler to a flowmaster or something"

i assume you mistyped and meant catback...ie...pipes. cause you say you have an ORP...which means NO CAT.

if you want loud with good sound...can't go wrong with true duals. a 2.5" setup with 24" bullets would sound KILLER

why not just go with a cutout, a little over $60 bucks installed? I had a cutout along with longtubes and it sounded sweet, i loved the sound. or go with LT's--> ORY---> bullet dumped before axle, IMO it sounds real deep and loud enough for your tastes.

You can get cut-outs for around 30 bucks from summit with everything you need to clamp it on.

I love my exhaust, pacesetter lt's, ory and a dumped 12" dynomax bullet.

I was thinking cutout, but would rather just have a nice sounding system instead. I know true duals sound good, but I would want the pipes to exit at my cutouts in my rear valance. What is a good bullet type muffler. Are they loud? and how much do you think it would cost for a shop to run 3 in true duals? Would it be cheaper for them to modify my y pipe, and run 2 pipes side by side, or just go straght back, over axle exit to rear?

(also I did mis type. I meant catback)

Why not SLP's LoudMouth catback? I have it on my car, and I have yet to hear negative feedback on it, except from the neighbors.

ive been thinking slp, but cant get a good sound clip, b/c they are all distorded with lts, and ory on lt1. I guess thats an indication of how loud it is. I love the loudness, but have heard reviews that its sound wasnt good with my setup.

Opps, i never saw that you already had LT's. I have yet to hear a car with LT's an SLP's loudmouth, i havent heard many good things about it but thats someone else's opinion not mine.
