Hey guys, Im sure this has been asked already but I just bought a 02 WS6 and wanted to do the exhaust right away, this is my first ls1 and have noticed that every body makes a set of long tube headers for these things SLP, HOOKER, PACESETTER, KOOKS, DYNATECH, ETC. just want to get the best on the market , the money isnt the issue, Im looking to get the most performance out of the exhaust as possiable

Prolly Kooks or QTP, but they aren't worth the cost to me unless you are building a max-effort car...

The best header is any stainless steel header besides SLP.

If you are a budget man like myself and many others who have Camaros then Pacesetter LTs and ORY for 500 shipped is what your best bet is going to be.

The Y-Pipe they offer is really nice with the electric cutouts in it...They have you covered for an offroad one or the catted one also which is nice...

Wouldn't "the best" be buying a stainless header and having it coated, ie: Jet Hot?? Otherwise, don't they throw a lot more heat and lose some of their efficiency?

Go Stainless. QTP or Kooks. I have QTPs and had an easy install and great build quality.

All pro racing teams use stainless over coated for a reason.

If money isn't an issue, then I would put some serious thought into either the QTPs or Kooks.

Try to get a thicker metal on the primaries and collectors. This will minimise noise.

Stay away from SLP LT's. No the best bang for the buck and the ground clearance leaves much to be desired. -DEF NOT for a lowered car!

QTP's are supposed to be good, but I've heard you need a tune w/ it because of the certain type of collectors on those. Or maybe it's w/ a cam? ... Anyway...

Kooks is well renouned as a great set of headers. They use them on engine dyno testing. Pacesetters are a great bang for the buck and look good too!

I agree I have the jet hots on my 96 ss and love them, but not really anyone else makes longtubes for an lt1 anymore . now I'm looking for LS1 headers, I just bought a 02 WS6, & every one & there mother makes long tubes for these things. Thanx for the input though
