Which LT1 headers fit with the least issues?

Mac' mids hands down. Not the best performing but they are decent for a lightly modded motor.

My kooks' fit like a dream! Love them, but just an FYI.. If theres a big rock in the middle of the road.. Be sure to swerve around it! My drivers side header picked a fight with that rock and LOST!

My X pipe once duked it out with an opossum. It looked like a slaughter house under my car.

I haven't had any issues with the Pacesetter long tubes, the slip fit flange I think helps ground clearance quite a bit and the headers and y-pipe fit well around the rest of the car.

i hear pacesetters getting a better rep the more people that buy them. Kooks are by far the better quality but are costly.

I have the Pacesetter LT's, with the ORY and am very happy with the fit. Unfortunately, my install shop could have done a slightly better job of tucking them up in there, but they are a nice quality header which hugs tight to the car. A friend put them on his 96 z28, and he lost almost no clearance what-so-ever. Very impressive for a "budget" header.

i had the hooker shorty's, LT and pacesetter LT's on my Z.. By far the pacesetters tucked in nicely and I never has an issue w/ them. The thick flanges are a nice add-on as well.

What's the design differences between the hooker's and pacesetters? I know there was a post about this awhile back but I couldn't dig it up...

the hookers are equal length whereas the pacesetters are not. Welds quality and flange quality are also differences. Hooker used to be the better quality but pacesetter seems to have stepped up

The pacesetters fit pretty well and give great clearance for the spark plugs. I had to get poly motor mounts to keep the ypipe from hitting the frame on the drivers side under accelleration. My pacesetters don't hang any lower than the stock exhaust.

After having compared Pacesetter LT's to my Hooker LT's, the Pacesetters do tuck a little more closely to the car. However, beware of those warped flanges. Make sure yours are straight before you install them. I do like the slip fit primary on the driver's side Hooker LT better because you don't have to disconnect any of your steering linkage.

Ive had MAC mids and Ive got pacestters on now..both fit great...Id go with pacesetters over Macs, but Id take Kooks stepped headers over everything made for lt1's..SLP's hang down reallllly low, but are great headers too
