best cat back system?

hey guys just wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with your aftermarket catback systems. im in the market for an exhaust system and i want something thats going to give significant rwhp gains and rwtq gains, yet i dont want the system to cost more than $350 for everything including the tubes, tips and muffler. btw id like to just buy a kit. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

just dont buy a flowmaster, it flows less than stock. if you like loud and dont care about sound quality the loudmouth is your ticket. gmmg is both loud and sounds great. the magnaflow is cheap, stainless steel, and quiet at idle but loud at wot. hooker is another good choice. try looking at www.ls1sounds.com to get some ideas, but remember, they sound different in person.

An electric cutout is the best way to go IMO

Cost me about $50-75 off ebay.

I get compliments all the time and people askin what kind of exhaust I have. If you leave the cat in and put the cutout near the rear axle it gives it a nice low tone and doesn't shake the car too much.

Its the cheapest route for the best flow rate and the best sound. You can cap it off when you get annoyed or want some quiet time for talking, and uncap it when you got Paradise City playin the background and want to go nuts.

Then you can save the extra $200 and save up for some LT headers.

the best exhaust system for that price would be either the Hooker or the Magna-flow. Both flow so well that even a cut-out does get many gains over these guys. Kinda quiet too, until you step on it, then they open up and are load and aggressive.

I agree with the above, the Magnaflow is a pretty good bang for the buck system considering it is all stainless.

Look for a used system. I picked up my borla for $250 and my Mufflex system was $125 (IIRC).

TSP Rumblers sound pretty good and are fairly cheap.

Flowmasters do not flow less than stock. They may not be the best flowing aftermarket muffler out there, but they are certianly better than stock. If you are going to use a Flowmaster with a 3 inch system, you will be fine. If you go with a Mufflex system (4 inch with a Flowmaster) I doubt you will ever have to worry about flow

I'm a big borla fan.. You can pick them up used pretty cheap.. But if i had the room i'd use a true dual setup.. Put my BMR torque arm is in the way.. =(
