Aluminum heads with headers...

This question is for the guys with aluminum heads that put headers on their cars. As you may or may not know, I've been looking for Breslin bolts for my headers but have since given up the search. I want to know what kind of bolts you aluminum head guys are using for your headers. Have you had any problem with them backing out? I've seen posts that say the aluminum heads are more prone to heat expansion than the iron heads, that's why I ask. Also, how many times did you have to retorque them after the initial install and how often did you check them? Thanks for your help guys.

I used the bolts that came with the Pacesetter headers, they haven't backed out once ever since they have been on the car. Others have been less fortunate, such as my friend for example, whose bolts backed out so much that he ended up trashing both of his header gaskets. From what I have heard, Breslin is no longer in business. Stage 8, however, makes a locking header bolt kit and are sold through a few of the supporting vendors on this site.

Thanks for the input. I know about the stage 8 header bolts, I may end up going with them. I'd like to hear a few other people's experiences first before I make my final decision.

Why isn't Breslin no longer in business? I used their locking header bolts on my car and I havn't had a problem with any of them backing out. I've had my AS&M headers for a year and a half and only retightened them once just to make sure. Even then, they didn't need it.

Someone mentioned in another post that the owner passed away.

ARP 1-in underhead length 12-pts. No problems in almost 4 years.
