I've been following a post on LS1tech about new stainless LT1 longtubes about to come to market. Rumored to be reasonably priced. I'd hold off some till these hit the shelves.

Would you happen to have that link? Do you know the brand by chance?

Hopefully this will work. If it doesn't go to LS1tech.com and go to the LT1 forum. You'll see the post there.

Looks as if there might be LT headers out soon that are going to give Kook's a run for their money. These look pretty good, and if they're in-fact as cheap as the builder is claiming, I'm wondering if kooks might lower prices so that these LPP Polished Stainless LTs' don't corner the whole LT1 header market. I know the LS1 LT's they make go for about $550-$600, so yeah... The LT1's are supposed to be priced in the same area or even cheaper. They're 1 3/4 x 3'' with no emissions though as far as I know. I think they might have a stepped version(1 7/8)
available sometime in the future maybe.

About time....somebody does something. Just getting cheaper kook's alone would be awesome.

They look promising, we will have to see what kind of feedback they receive. Depending on the pricing, they look like they will give the Kooks some competition.

I'm interested in buying some of those new LT1 headers just to see how they compare to Kooks. They're supposedly going to be 321 stainless, which is better than the 304 that is used by Kooks. They actually look like they're a copy of the Kooks design. I still don't feel bad about what I paid for my Kooks. They fit like a glove.

Yeah...I just wouldn't mind seeing the IMO overpriced kooks drop down a few hundred bucks. I could only dream...

It would be nice if Kooks were cheaper, but it's too late for me. I'm just glad I have no complaints. I think they should start offering them in 321 stainless.

Maybe so, but it is still hit or miss as stated previously. A friend just got his pacesetter LT's two weeks ago right from Pacesetter for his 97 TA and they were absolutely appalling. Severly warped flanges on both, and scratches up the ying yang all over them. The worst part was a weld midway down the passenger side header that had a hole right in the bead. I read the pr message he recieved yesterday, and they went on about how sorry they were blah, blah...they threw in a free y-pipe though, so they definetely own up to their mistakes.

I on the other hand don't like the hassle of shipping something back, my Hooker's were pristine and scratchless with consistent/clean welds everywhere. Coating is still unbelievably good after a year. I know if I'd ordered pacesetter's I would have got some crappy ones, because I don't have any luck. I've seen some Pacesetter's that look really good, and some on the other hand look like complete s*it.

Depending where these new headers fall in price and popularity, and how Kooks responds, I would consider a set of either to replace my rusted Pacesetters. Cost is the big factor though considering there are other things I would rather upgrade then my already upgraded exhaust system.

Love my Jet Hot long tubes and y-pipe! The headers and the y-pipe are both Sterling Silver coated. Had them on my 95 Z for over a year. Still looking good. I wouldn`t go with the Macs. Jet Hot,Hookers,Pacesetters or Kooks long tubes are the way to go. I had the Hooker shorties/Flowmaster on my Z for a couple of years but when I got long tubes on along with a new Magnaflow catback, HOLLY CRAP what difference! I still have my Hooker shorties and y-pipe for sale if anyone is interested.
