97 SS which Pacesetter LTs?
The question I have relates to emissions hookup or not, I live in Maryland and OBD II cars don't have to do the road simulation and they don't do a visual inspection. So I'm thinking of getting the coated race longtubes because I'm planning on deleting the air pump and egr and using blockoff plates. Or should I get the coated with emission hookups and just cap them off?
At the moment all they do with 96 & up OBD II cars is check the charcol canister with the probe in the gas tank then they hookup to the diagnostic port and as long as there are no codes stored in the pcm you pass. The non emissions headers are just cleaner looking but I guess I could just get the emission legal ones and cap off or block off the air and egr ports on the headers.

I was in the same boat. In fact I had purchased the LT emissions headers. HOWEVER, all it took was swapping out my water pump and I was reminded of all the extra BS that is just in the way if you leave the smog pump and AIR tubes in. Doing plug swaps and front engine maintenance is a joy without all the extra stuff. There is also less of a chance of leaks with no AIR tubes to worry about or egr tubes to f*** around with.
