96-97 y pipe for slp shorties
I have a Random_Tech dual cat Y on a lowered 97ss 383 Lt1 and SLP short tubes. Had to cut and re-weld the cross over to fit correctly (slice, bend and weld). It was easy. It made a big difference in exhaust flow with the bullet cats and a D1 ATI blower. I do not like the SLP flange design on the driver side. Adapted a 2 1/2" collector gasket (Summit) to the Y where it bolts to flange. Used 3 rivets to attach it on the crossover pipe flange, and, it is easy to install/ dis-assemble (No loose gm stock expensive junk gasket to hold). Seals good and easy on/ off/ reuseable/ cheep. The only reason to like SLP shorts is ground clearance and Engine access. I also did my own custom cat-back. I guess that's why they call it an... "exhaust system." Hope this helps. B.
