93-95 style edelbrock headers on 96 Z

I have a set of 93-95 Edelbrock Shorties with Y pipe that I will be trying to put on my 96Z.

My question is what is the difference between the catback between the single cat and dual cat cars?

The back of the Edelbrock Y pipe has a 3 bolt flange, but could have been welded on by the previous owner..

I know OBD1 cars are single cat and 2 cars are dual, and I can live with one cat.

What is the difference between the Y pipe/catback setups though and what cutting welding will I have to do to get them to mate up?

Thanks

Nevermind, found the diagram on Shboxes site. Looks like I'll just run open headers to the exhaust shop and a have a high flow single cat welded in after the Y.

Does the stock after Y cat flow enough for the entire exhaust to run through? I kind of doubt it.

I'm running the stock Y/cats on my '97 SS with 96-97 Edelbrock Shortys. Sure I'd pick up a few horse power had I a offroad Y pipe, but the reason I went with shortys (besides the fact that the previous owner threw them in with the car when I bought it) is so I could retain the stock Y-pipe, due to my car being so low (~2" drop in the front)

Eventually I'll be changing suspension back to a more stockish stance (~1-1.5" drop all around) and then I'll be putting long tubes on it with a 3" ORY.
