78 exhaust and headers

Hey guys, I'm new to Camaros. Just looking for some input and help.

My 78 Z28 has a bone stock engine and a 4 speed. I previously had an 86 442 with a 74 Olds 350 in it with true duals and headers and you could hear it coming up the block and sounded great. I'm looking for that kind of sound with my new Z28, especially since you don't really hear it 10 feet away.

Is it too tight for headers in there? and is it even worth it since it's a low compression/low hp motor?

I was looking into a mandrel bent pypes system and flowmaster 40s since I don't want cats. Any help or input would be appreciated.

My brother just put Hooker super comps in his 78 and they fit great. He only had to put a small dent in the floor so the collect wouldn't hit. He put a Flowmaster dual exhaust kit on it as well, the car sounds awesome.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.
