Who was at Rockingham on Friday night? (11-08-02)

What a hell of a night for my Z and the most fun I've had in a long time! My buddy driving got a new best of 13.63 @ 100 MPH and still spinning like sheeot with the new Nittos! I was ecstatic!
It was great to see all of the money... parts and influence from this board finally starting to pay off! My car also WAXED every import it ran against... even on crappy 14+ runs from horrible traction! OK so they were cheap and easy wins but I've got to make up for getting creamed by a '69 Z... a 70-ish Chevelle... and a bad-a$$ WS6 all running 12's!

My highlight driving was a .503 R/T and a 14.00 @ 100 against an orange LT1 SS

There was a red LT1 Z on the juice that ran an 11.25! He did the longest pre-stage burn out I think I've ever seen... got it on video!

But if you ask me that track is terrible! I hooked up way better at Moorseville on the Nittos... just too bad that's an 1/8 track! They call Charlotte a damn "racing town" with no 1/4 track within 80 miles of here... makes me want to

Anyone who was there... please post for the hell of it... and if you were at the F-body shootout on Saturday... what happened?

Sorry to ramble over nothing... and thanks for reading! LOL

Me and some friends of mine were down there friday night. I had a white LT1 Z with a supersport hood and black stripes parked all night along side a red 00 mustang. We came with the orange SS which was an LS1 by the way and 2 pewter LS1 trans ams. One was probably the WS6 that u said was running 12s. Which is very impressive becuase he only has a lid, exhuast and nittos and ran a 12.48@111. That red car was awesome. It was pulling the wheels about 6 inches or so, in a 6 speed at that.

The orange SS is an LS1? Something must have been wrong because he ran a 14.7 when I ran him then ran a 14-flat on his next run. Is he an M6?

I saw your white Z... pretty cool! Did you run?

That WS6 has only a lid... exhaust... and Nittos? When you say exhaust... you do mean headers too don't you?

I didnt see any other Orange SS's, its an M6 and he just got 4.10s on stock tires, so yeah it probably ran 14s.

Thanks. No I didnt run mine, transmission was almost out of it, no 4th gear. Fixed as of Saturday though.

No, i dont mean headers. I mean a dynomax bullet muffler rigged up like the loudmouth stock 2002 manifolds and cats, lid, k&n filter, and a descreened MAF. He was running 13 flats on stock tires @ 110 in slightly warmer weather. Nittos were the only change this time. His 60' went from 2.19 to 1.88.

I was there to spectate Friday night. I did race on Saturday and Sunday. I tried to break in my new 28" ET Streets Saturday with NO LUCK! All they did was spin! Finally Sunday I was able to break them in and spray the car. Car went 11.31@117mph. If I would have had a full bottle and been able to hook a little better, 10's should have been possible.

I will test that theory in Darlington!

I know one thing. I should have kept my 26" ET Streets to run my car on motor, and just used the 28"s for juice passes. Now I have a set of BIG tires that kill the cars ET on motor.

PS. for all the guys who asked me this weekend; what "FRD" stood for in FRDnemesis; its short for "FORD Nemesis"

4.10's on stock tires? That must be all the squealing I'm hearing on the video of us running... cause it sure wasn't my car.

I've got a vid of your buddy's WS6 (it is a WS6 isn't it?) destroying another T/A (I think a red one) ... time was like 12.6 (hard to read... blurry). I want one! I can send it up to a server somewhere if you want to see it... it's only 10MB or so... typical home vid quality but viewable on Media Player. I've got your other buddy's pewter WS6??? T/A running a black Mustang

Yeah, it's a WS6 and that'd be cool, I'd love to see it. That other T/A (with a WS7 badge) has got headers, pulleys, true duals, and he was spraying a 100 shot. He normally runs 12.9s@111 with a 2.2 '60 on motor. But he was having some problems with traction, plus i dont think he's worked out trying to shift and hold the button. The best I think he got was like 13.0.

Oh, and I do beleive that I remember that saying that he was disappionted to get outrun by an LT1, his car has went 13.2@110 w/ 3.42s. I think one of the times that he ran 14s he tried starting out in 2nd. I think just wasted money coming down there without some tires.
