yeah im racing fri.. n2o is better after i changed to colder plugs, although sometimes still does it slightly.i stepped it up to about a 130 shot and hit it this morning and it felt alot better. gonna try to win four weeks in a row.i did get to smack around a z06 corvette ,and some ls1's and mustangs last weekend. pretty fun. my transmission is the main issue tho. thats the big reason im not running the d.o.t.s. i havent really tried to make any kinda n2o run yet. i think i can run some 7.7s-7.8s probablly on my regular street tires and real low 7s on d.o.t.s but the trans. is getting worse. yeah, i saw all that stuff on the other site. i'll go up with ya. sat. night but i may pull the trans. sat. afternoon if my brother gets the rebuild kit for it. says he knows a guy at dayco that can get the entire rebuild kit for 48 bucks.thats their cost.id get the carb. fixed before i race because your not gonna be able to hook it on the spray on the street leaving on it. hey shawn, you know the only reason that guy p.o.s. dragqueen wants to waite two weeks is so they can throw every part they can get their hands on, at his car dont you?? itll probablly have a different engine, trans.,gear,n2o on it. the only thing thatll be the same is the body,but of course itll be 3-4 hundred lbs. lighter.so be prepared. later

 

Went to Brainard friday,made 1 pass and someone noticed one of my front runners had a big buldge in it (broken belt)So we left and went to pep boys but didnt get there in time.
So saturday went back to Brainerd.
Was pretty hot and the track wasnt working very well for me I am going to change some things on the suspension once I get the car tuned (ls1 edit on the way.)
Best of the night was 7.60@91 worse past of the night was a 7.68@89.
I was autotaping every run and the tune is really bad 20 plus on lftrims. 21 degrees timing and o2's in the 950 range.
I got the 7.60 by reseting the computer.that got my timing up to 27.5 but o2's went to the .980 range.
Best 60 ft was a spinning 1.68,my car was always in the 1.5 zone in ky or low 1.6 I am going to tune for this cam first then add ls-6 intake and larger cam.

 

damn Brent thats sad your only 2 tenths off my best ET on the spray and you on motor !!! Your car is a monster as always !! When ya coming up this way to run ?

yeah, the heat has been terrible this weekend. i didnt get to the track till about 8:30 fri. night. and my fans werent working to beat all so my temp. got up to 235-240 before i got to make a pass.when i pulled back in ,my car was puking water out the resivoir.only managed an 8.13 but it was on plain street tires leaving easy and my trans. is about shot. saw you leaving brent and didnt get to talk.those are some pretty strong numbers for your car especially in this heat. you ever talk to that guy with the red 00 ss.its a 6spd. and runs 7.4s all motor, but thats in cooler weather. we have a few cars that hangout at checkers in e.ridge on sat. nights from around 9:45 till ????? if you ever want to hangout. their was a couple races last night out their. a 03 s/c cobra ran a buddy of mine with a lt1 z28 with spray. it was the z28 by about 5 cars. then the z28 ran a 01 z28 with a 150 shot three different times. lt1 car won every time. a little duller than usual but still pretty fun. only about ten-twelve cars came out last night.

 

cool sorry I missed you,was you with the group on the other side of the pit road/entrance rd as we were leaving?mine has ran a best of 7.37 in cooler weather with a larger cam.And TEA ported 5,3 heads
Considering the baby cam and the poor tune the car was in,plus the fact that I ported these 5.7 heads,and it has about 1 point less compression,I am happy with its time.But it will get better.
Maybe we will see you guys out there next friday,if I get the intake on it.

 

yeah, we were parked up on the hill. one of my buddies drives the maroon z28 with dragstars. dont know if the red 86 gt was their when you left,but that is nos86 on this board.406camaro was also their but not racing. my best 60ft.s were in the 2s fri. night but thats expected on those tires i guess. before i rebiult the engine it 60 ft. a best of 1.65 on tires, but the way the trans. is acting im reluctent to try it and also i wanted to run in the trophy class. and you cant use d.o.t.s in it.i would think that everyones car will pickup atleast a tenth or more when it cools off. my car was acting kinda funny since thursday. acted like it wanted to miss every once in awhile then sat. really got bad. would die going down the road, and when driving popped and sputtered. after looking at it earlier tonight and changing some plugs i noticed the map sensor had came unplugged. im suprised it ran at all. the plastic snap part has been broken off for awhile now so i tiewrapped it on now. my car is a 93 so it has a 4l60 not a 4l60e. read they were almost the same as a 700r4 except the valvebody is a little different. anybody know if a 700r4 torque conv. will work in my trans??? got a guy wanting to sale me one out of his vette for 50 bucks thats a 2400. my stock only stalls 1500. thought about getting it if i rebiuld my trans. later

 

Hey this is the guy from trenton Ga. with the black 94 TA.Just going to let you know that a few of us were thinking about going to section ala.on thur. night.they have a good hooking 1/8 mile track.when I came back to trenton saturday night I seen a supra and a built mustang ran.It was pretty even.That was about all for the trenton seen though.Anyway I'm going to try and get a few more people to come.Talk at ya later.

 

hey, whats up. i work on thurs. nights but may try to make it. dont know yet. hope you guys can make it back up. after most of the people left sat. night. the red ls1 camaro with a 150 shot showed up. he ran that same teal z28 three times. the teal car won all three times. twice from a dead stop and once from a roll. its a shame their wasnt more action.if you guys go to section, are any of you racing?? how many real street cars usually show up?? by that i mean drive to and from the track. how many lt1s,ls1s, and mustangs?? later

 

I am waiting on ls-1 edit right now they told me 2 weeks and it will be here.I cant wait to run with more than 21 degrees of timing and a good fuel curve

whats up, congrats on the new kids guys. ok eric, ill try to answer your questions. yes,yes, no, i dont know, maybe,yes and sometimes. but seriiouslly, sand mtn. runs their test and tune on thurs. nights they have regular bracket racing on fri. or sat. nights not sure which. fri. night at brainerd i won the street class again. put the spray on randall's car but the solenoid
was stuck open so i let him borrow a spare but he's not the greatest driver so he only ran 8.60 @86 mph on street tires. my trans.is getting worse so my e.t.s arent that great 7.6s but i did get a rebiuld kit for it just gotta drop the trans. and do it. not a lot of cars sat. night.probablly nine cars. no body raced in chatt. some guys from al. and trenton came up and we went to cleve. kinda late. didnt get to see any action they just got back from racing right after we got their. heard the guys in the blue camaro talking some smack about running you but the way my hearing is ,i couldnt make out very much.they said it wouldnt be back out for a couple weeks tho. but with that AMAZING 7.18 they ran ,you dont have anything to worry about. mark gilbert is supposed to run brandon this coming week ,i think. i put my money on the stang. toby ,with the black 8? camaro blew a head gasket last weekend in cleve. after he got beat by derrick i think. thats about all the low down i can think of right now. as for aug. 11 ,im sure ill go. just not sure if ill race, depends on if i get the trans. fixed or not. i dont want to drive that far and not atleast be competitive. i would think high sixes would be competitive unless theirs some faster cars coming. i think my car is capable of that if the trans. is fixed and some n2o is added. hey billy c., if you need another engine check with speedautomotive.com ,i know they got a few. later

 

Thanks for the heads up , But belive it or not Speedautomotive didn't anything except a shortblock that had been in a lake for 6 month and they wanted a grad for that !!!! Just keep your eyes and ears open for somthing that way !!! Thanks !!!
