Yeah...The car is six months old and has 11,xxx miles. The rear end and transmission started acting up at about 7500 miles. Newton didn't want to actually fix anything...they just replaced a bearing and shimmed the rear end. Said they couldn't reproduce the tranny problems.
I think the guy I took for a ride WAS the main guy...I went in there and saw the little guy who wrote up my problems and he told me to shake some guy's hand named Mike. Said he was some kind of mananger...then Mike tells me to take Joe for a ride in the car...This guy had a white button up shirt and a tie...So I guess he was higher up on the food chain. heh...He was also a total **** to me. At first he didn't pay any attention to anything I said...He almost looked like he was asleep. Anything I brought up I got a preprogramed speech about being normal. When I started taking it in and out of third gear and the car was shaking and making all sorts of noises he started to pay attention and asked if the clutch was all the way on the floor. Then I showed him how bad the rear end pops and rattles and he wouldn't admit that anything was wrong, but he went from canned speeches to damage control.
I think they are pissed because as of tomorrow they will have had the car a total of 18 days...that's if they call me to pick it up tomorrow...and if anything else goes wrong in the next six months that number will go up. The lemon law says 30 cumulative calander days and I can actually do something.

Now this really makes me mad....read this:
http://web.archive.org/web/200111081...7-29-003A.html
It's an internal GM document about what needs to be done if it starts jumping out of gear.
I asked if they replaced the shift fork and he said NO. That document says the cause of the problem is:
Condition may be caused by inadequate travel of the 3-4 synchronizer assembly due to the 3-4 shift fork being out of specification or bent.
WTF!?! I know that dealership has access to this document. It is listed as applying to 1999-2000 model Camaro's and Firebird's...But that is the exact same thing that happened to me! Third gear started jumping out...and they said that third gear was toast..and so was the third and fourth gear synchros!!

BTW...Someone told me that the tranny only gets a 12,000 mile warranty. Is that true? I thought it came with 3 years/36000 miles like everything else.
If that is true that might be part of the reason they are such dicks to me...I'm pretty sure the odometer had something like 11,800 or 11,900 miles on it when I had it towed in. heh...

I don't think I've abused it at all...It's never seen a race track...I've run nothing except for the factory tires...I've never launched it hard off the line and it's never been power shifted. I changed the oil & filter at 1000 miles, and they've been changed every 3000 since with Mobil 1 10-30. I didn't even start running the car hard until it got over 6000 miles on it.
I think a couple of small things were out of adjustment/spec and instead of replacing them these crappy dealerships tried to slap bandaids on them. I took my car to three different dealerships telling them to check out the transmission...over 3000 miles before it finally let go. They either blew me off or told me nothing was wrong with it. Now they are pissed because a simple $100 repair is costing them $x,000's. Crap...I'm sure the bill on this rental car is to the moon...I've had it 17 days now and I've been driving it all over...even went on a couple of road trips. heh...
I wouldn't be so mad about the way they've been treating me if I had been down at Brainerd every weekend launching off the rev limiter on slicks...But it hasn't been like that at all. 90% of those 12,000 miles were on the freeway in 6th gear. The first month I had the car I went to Atlanta twice, Knoxville twice, Bloomington and Ft. Wayne Indiana. The Indiana trip alone was almost 2000 miles. Up until my Mustangs blew up it almost always sat in the garage waiting for the weekends.

Chad,
You shouldn't have been so easy on it. That is your problem, I've never had any trouble out of my engine or tranny, just the rear and clutch. LOL
I had to send my third member back to Moser to have them check out the gears, me ears are still recovering from the noise. I hope to have it back by next Friday, then I will try to bolt Wes's slicks up and see what it will do.
Anyone know where I can get 1 16" silver LT1 style TA wheel? I have one, but I need another so I can mount some slicks to them.

You guys are going to love this...heh...I picked the car up today and I asked the guy what was wrong with the rear end. He said they put in a brand new transfer case. ; ) Now doesn't that have something to do with 4-wheel drive vehicles?
The rear end is now whining louder than when I brought the car to them. I can now hear it over the radio at times. It also starts whining at lower speeds than before I took it in. Before it would start about 40-60...Now it's starting at about 35...and it will whine REALLY loud at speeds as low as 30 if I'm going up hill.
They did improve the rattle that was coming from the rear...It still does it a little, but it's no where near as loud as before. Before it rattled louder than it whined...now it's the other way around.
The engine is making all sorts of ticking noises that it never made before I took it in. I was told this is normal engine noise.
When I asked him for a print out of all the parts and labor they had done he told me that he couldn't give it to me right away and that he would have to MAIL it to me.
Does anyone have anything positive to say about Herb Adcox? I was warned, but didn't listen.

Take it back!
If it is not right, take it back. Call the GM customer service line in the back of the owner's manual. That is the only way I got them to fix my hood, I also threatened to call the BBB and Newschannel 9 to run a story on it. Don't let them push you around, if you are not satisfied, make them fix it. That is their job. Herb Adcox is a joke, and will do anything they can to get out of warranty work. I would call Gm customer service if I were you. They expect you to just bend over and take it, because that is what everyone else does.
Don't make me say "I told you so." Don't let them push you around either.
Kevin

I'm in Knoxville right now...I decided to take a last minute road trip. On the way here the rear end started making a noise like two rocks being rubbed together. heh...I'm wondering how much life is left in it.
I'm wondering if they screwed around with my clutch while they were in there. It's got a burning smell to it...Just the same as when the car was brand new and starting to break in.
Another thing I noticed is that they left the driver's side tail pipe hanging down at an angle towards the ground.
I'm sick of taking it down there and them telling me everything is normal. I'll let them keep paying for the tow bills and rental cars when the things I tell them about finally go out. heh...
