Anyone know of a good LT1 engine shop in KY?
Does anyone know where I can go in Ky to get a good engine rebuild? Looking for a short block build of a 355. I am from Lexington, if anyone knows a place around there, or in Ky at least, please let me know. Thanks!
If you can find a decent machine shop around you get them to do your balancing blueprinting etc. which really isnt very costly. I would buy your own parts (crank, rods, pistons) and rings and such and just have them clearance if need be and balance it for you. They might not even charge you much to set it all up for you. The LT1 engine is just basically a small block with reverse cooling heads so most machine shops should not have a problem at all doing your motor. If you dont want them to assemble it you can contact Rob Raymer at www.ls1motorsports.com and ask him about the guy that assembles his motors for him. He referred me to him and he was pretty cheap even though I didnt go with him when I got mine done. Also you can check out our local board at www.kyfbodies.org and go to the Lexington region section and ask some of them guys about machine shops in your region.
Hope this helps you out
