Hi John! I just shot you an email. I have no idea why my account is acting up, you're the 1st person to say anything about it.

I'm in Canton, GA...spend a good amount of time in Kennesaw also, with an occasional trip to Woodstock and rarer time near Marietta, Roswell, and Atlanta.

So do you know a guy named Billy Mitchell. His son, Andy Mitchell drives their Z28 down at SilverDollar all the time. It's a 95 Z28 with a couple small mods. It's the mystic teal color. If ya see him tell him Kevin Pope said hey!

I know Bill and Andy Mitchell. I sold them the Blue 90 Camaro.

Andy just won the High School track championship at Silverdollar Raceway. (I hope I got that right)

You're not related to Jonathan Pope are you? I sold my '96 Camaro to him back in '98 and he had it wrapped around a tree within 6 weeks!

Bill's teal car is a factory freak. It's the quickest stock (when I saw him run it anyway) LT1 I'd ever seen. Very consistant mid 13s out of it on regular street tires. His previous car, an automatic 98 LS1 Z28, ran 13.9 @ 101 stock.

Bill and I met 5-6 years ago when he bought his first (in 20 years anyway) Z28. He'd just bought it from the Chevorlet dealership but I'd known its previous owner (who traded it on a LT1 vette). Bill wanted to play with my car (92 Eclipse GSX at the time). After our run we stopped & talked and he said "How is that 4 cyl so damn fast?" Well, we talked for like an hour and I convinced him to try out the 1/4mi track. He went with us to Renolds the next time out and was hooked

That led to him competing in the brakets and getting his son involved. Bill used to be on the board here; I'm not sure if he is or not anymore. His handle was Iceman something-or-other.

Yea that's my brother. That's wierd Chris, I didn't know you still lived in Macon. Yea Jonathan wrapped the black camaro around that tree a few years back. He has a mystic teal 95 Z28 now. He also has a couple of other toys now too, 1998 GSXR 750 and a 1991 GMC SYCLONE. He is a little more responsible than he was when he had that wreck. Anyways, we need to get together and cruise sometime in Macon or where ever. Just shoot me an e-mail or something. kpope2@email.gasou.edu. Later!

BTW: My dad told me to remind you that you promised him if you ever get rid of your current Z28 that he would get the first stab at it. He just told me to remind you of that

JOHN it's me, Kevin Pope. I didn't know you were a member of this board. So what's the new best for the Stealth. The last time I saw you run in the 1/8 was about a month 1/2 ago, I think you ran a 8.0 or so?? I can't remeber exactly! Yea Andy and I grew up together playing baseball. We always been into cars and stuff

Wish some of you guys had made it - we had about 120 racers today.

I finished my car late Friday night so it was raced with no tuning whatsoever. I didn't even get the boost gauge installed so I was flying blind.

I ran a best of 12.56 @ 109.45 on an equal mix of 93 and 110 octane. On the 93 pump it did a 12.6x @ 107. I have a lot of tuning to do but it was a great improvement. Oh - curb weight with me in the car was a featherweight 4030lbs If you do the math it's making decent HP to push that much weight that quickly.

I added bigger injectors and an HKS VPC which basically converts the car from mass air to speed density, allowing me to toss the air meter and no longer worry about metered air in general (easier underhood plumbing).

My brother's Supra is on a stock torque converter so it bogged almost the first 1/8 mile but still trapped at 118.9 on 100 unleaded at 18 psi. The single turbo he has is good for 27 psi We're picking up a built tranny and higher stall converter in 2 weeks. Guess it'll need drag radials by then too but should trap at 130+
