Yet Another 4l60e Bites the Dust

Let me know if the tranny is shot:

It was shifting really hard out of first gear one morning. From a stopped position, I accelerated (mildly) and heard the famous "belt noise", shifted out of first then a bang noise and all of a sudden the car felt like it was in neutral. I got the car back home using 1st & 2nd manually, put the car in drive and no go. Reverse, 1st and second fine manually selected.

Prior to this day, no other symptoms, the current tranny has been serviced once a year, filter and complete fluid change.

What would you guys do, order a rebuild kit or go for a new built tranny.
I've gone through 2 stock rebuild and 1 custom built one, frustration level a bit high and with everything else today, budget is low. Also what to do about the stall converter.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like you broke a sprag or low roller clutch and that would mean its time for a trans or a rebuild. If you like please take a look at what we have to offer. Presently we can ship out in approx 3-5 business days of the order.
