wtf is dextron II E?

wtf is dextron II E?
My T-56 has a sticker that says use dextron II E...wtf is that? All the posts I read while searching say dex3. Is it safe to use dex3 instead, sticker be damned?

I never heard of Dextron II E. Mine says Dextron III only. I wouldnt worry about it though, just use Mobil 1 ATF like everyone else
