I found out after the fact but I made to passes and it would go all the way to 7 grand from 2-3 and wouldnt shift? Would very low fluid, meaning not at all visible on the dipstick cause this?

Low fluid can cause this because the pressure won't be what it should be. Can also cause the clutches to slip.

Low transmission fluid can do alot of things to the way your tranny shifts, which is why it should be where it should be all the time.
