Would a loose, worn shifter cause this?

Bascally my car does not like to go into 2nd gear, unless, I slam it hard, from 1st or 3rd. I am not grinding gears, I can push the clutch in slam it, pause a few seconds then let the clutch out and give it gas and it works like there was never a problem in the world.

But driving normal or not slamming the shifter, it acts like I didn't even put hte clutch in and tried to shift. Doesn't pop me out like it used to just does let me in.

BTW its a T5, and was rebuilt in march, and before that last september. And the problem is only with 2nd everything works perfect.

Its probably just worn/broken synchros, but just hoping its something easy.

Another question do shifters ever go bad? I don't really see how but hey worth asking.
