Wiring harness for trans auto trans

Is the wiring for the auto just a pigtail that plugs into the main harness or is it a whole new harness for the 6 speed. I am looking at swapping to an A4 from my M6 and Im not sure what I need to do about wiring. I have all the computer stuff covered, just dont know about the harness itself.

Another quick questions. The engine wiring harness is seperate fromt the harness that runs into the firewall and into the dash? Do I need to tear the dash apart to change to the a4 wiring harness?

The only part of the engine/trans harness that comes into the passenger compartment does so under the PCM.

Go to Shoebox's sight and look at the PCM wiring diagrahms and build yourself a new harness from the exisiting one. Did i say that right so its not confusing???
What i did was keep my existing stock/m6 harness alone, and working from the diagrahms, add a new "leg" or "new harness section" from the PCM to the trans. You can buy the trans connector from GM.
I coiled up all the connectors/harness legs that went to the t56, and ty-rapped them up out of the way...just incase i ever went to m6 again.

Re: Wiring harness for trans auto trans

Its been a while but I am looking into doing this again.

If I am understanding correctly, I dont need to worry about wiring anywhere in the dash, my stock M6 wiring is good there. I just need to get either a new harness for the engine compartment, or build a leg to the trans from the PCM....
