No, it won't. The bellhousing bolt patterns on the block are different. Even if it would fit, the LT1 would destroy the T5. It can't handle the power.

You could get it to fit with additional parts. But yea. an LT1 would destroy that thing in short order... so it would certainly not be worth it.

Is the T5 used in the V6 4th-gens different from the T5 used in the V8 3rd-gen cars then? I would have figured it was the same transmission? The bolt pattern is the same on the back of the LT1 as it was on the older 5.0L, and I thought the V6's used the same transmission (and I assumed they had the same bolt pattern too? ) ...

... but I could be wrong?!

It wouldn't surprise me that the clutch setup may be slightly different though .

the v6 trans in thirdgens had a different bolt pattern than the v8's at leas the earlier ones did ( I have one of each sitting here) the bell housings are different. I am not sure if a v8 bellhouseing will bolt to a v6 trans though. I have not taken them apart yet to try. However, the power output of an LT1 will destroy that trans. they never put a t-5 in anything over a 305 in a thirdgen for a reason. The t-s in the ford products are not exactly the same. there are a few differences if i remember correctly which made the ford ones a little bit stronger.

Yes the third gen v6 and v8 t-5's are interchangeable, Just swap bells. Not sure on the 4th gen's?

Ok, so the difference is the bell-housing. That makes sense. Otherwise, they're essentially the same main unit? It would stand to reason that none of that changed from the 3rd- to the 4th-gen cars?!
