Red face Will not get into gear

Went to a Dodger Game a few weeks ago and got stuck in traffic in the uphill climb to Chavez Ravine. Parked the car and after the game, couldn't get the car into gear.

Ended up replacing the brand new (1400 miles) Mcleod disk w/ another one, due to it fusing to the flywheel, which prevented it from getting into gear. Also went ahead and replaced the pressure plate since I've had many hard miles on it.

Car still refuses to get into gear, so I replace the slave cylinder b/c it looked to be bent and missing a plastic piece on the end. When bleeding, I compressed the slave over and over till air bubbles no longer appeared in the plastic cylinder up above. I have a feeling I didn't do it right

Now the car gets into gear, but, it's a struggle.

What are possible issues? I'm hoping I don't have to pull the tranny again The clutch fork looks to be straight. Car is mildly modded, w/ small little baby cam and some bolt-ons.

Re: Will not get into gear

Well I ended up taking it to the shop b/c all I was doing was scratching my head.

They replaced the slave again still no luck. They say it maybe the pressure plate because they say it's only for a corvette. I bought an LT4 pressure plate, part # 10207027 to go w/ the Mcleod clutch disk.

Is this the wrong part number?

Hey Jeremy, maybe posting this over on ls1tech.com or ls1.com could help, you may get more responses...Shoot, maybe even ls2.com???

There is lots of knowledge on ls1tech.com, you might get your answer faster over there.

Yea, I should of, posting here got me know where

What fixed it was just replacing the clutch assembly, me and the shop assumed it was the wrong pressure plate, will only work in a C4. I did replace the slave cylinder w/ a pre bled system, that didn't fix it. So had to fork out the money for a new clutch assembly.

Thanks for your help CZ28.... This place is definitely not like it used to be.

The drivetrain forum is very slow. Ive been trying to help out from time to time, but I dont know everything. We need to get some experts in here more often.
