Will my stock shifter work on a TH350?

Hey guys, my tranny is dying on me as I write this, and I was in the process of going over to a TH350 from my 4L60E. I know that I need the crossmember plate from B&M, a kickdown kit (not a must), shorter driveshaft, dipstick from Madman or Lokar, and the electrnics for the speed (not a must at the moment). My real question is can I use the stock shifter from my car or will I have to use an aftermarket one? Also, what type of kickdown kit should I use? The universal one I guess???

Also, what year TH350 is easiest to use? What year and does it need to have a lock up converter or what? What length tail shaft? Thanks

do a search on the lengths of th350's one of the variations has the same length as a 700r4/4l60.. I think the converter choice is up to you.

I've heard of people using the stock shifter you just have to play with it probably to get it to work right.

When i searched everything out, they said that I needed to get a long tail shaft, like the 9". I found a guy that will give me a TH350 with the long tail shaft, but the reverse is burnt out of it. I think that I am going to get it and build it up the way that I want it with a good shift kit and about a 2800 stall. Probably going to change the first gear inside of it to be more like the 4L60E's first gear. At least then I know exactly what I have. My mechanic said that the shifter would work yesterday, I dount want to have to hack my console up for another shifter. Plus its another uneeded expense if I dont have to have it. Thanks for the reply.
