Just wanted to know, will a lt1 T56/bellhousing/clutch, etc... fit on a traditional sbc? Mainly out of a 3rd gen?

Re: Will an lt1 T56 fit on a traditional sbc?

For the purposes of transmission fitment, the back of a 1986-2003 Gen I SBC is exactly like the back of a 1992-1997 Gen II LT1/LT4.

So everything bolts up, engine to trans.

If it's a two-piece rear main seal (1985 and older,) then the swap needs an aftermarket flywheel for that. If it's a 1970s or older, then the inboard starter bolt location might need drilled / tapped.

That's it.
