Will I need a tranny cooler?

I just got a Vigiante 3200 TC to go with my 3:73's this weekend. Will I need a tranny cooler too? I've heard I really don't need one, but I just don't want to kill my tranny. TIA.

Re: Will I need a tranny cooler?

A buddy of mine put a 2800 stall in his with no cooler and his temp will get up to around 200 degrees sometimes. I've got a 3600 stall and the biggest cooler I could find (28000 GVW), and my temp stays around 160 degrees. The highest it will ever get is 175. I would suggest one just to be on the safe side.

I agree, heat is one of the biggest killers of transmissions. Get the cooler and do yourself a favor, they are a chaep, but sound investment.

Absolutely, and a manual lockup switch to go with it. That is if you plan on driving it on the street.

Re: Will I need a tranny cooler?

as said above yes. I went with the b&m supercooler 28,000 lbs. seems like a nice piece but havent installed it yet, you may also want to look into a trans temp guage.

Without a doubt, put a trans cooler in. Your trans will thank you!
