will a 94 4L60E work in my 96?
just as the title says.... will a trans (4L60E) out of a 94 Z work in my 96 Z? also has a 4L60E Ive been told both yes and no

no, in 95 they went to PWM(pulse width modulated) TCC(torque convertor clutch), so 95 and up are not interchangable with 94 down(there is also a change in the case design in 97 i think?)

I am actually running a built '94 4L60E in my '96.
It did work in my case, with the following adjustments:
1) Had to disable the TCC PWM solenoid hardware verification test (P1860) with LT1 edit.
2) Swapped transmission tailshaft housings. The speed sensor was slightly different and on the opposite side.
3) The TC cover has different screw hole positions. It can be modified or you can get another one.
I did the swap myself. I know it works.
I run a Vigilante 2800 RPM TC with it. It locks and unlocks just as programmed.
