Why very hard to push the shifter knob?

Why very hard to push the shifter ****?
When I puch the shifter **** out of PARK, it is very hard to do. I usually have to hit it with a hammer. Once I do then its fine, until the next time I try to shift our of park.
Anyone can help me fix this problem?

It only gets worse, you need to adjust it
