I know this is an annoying thread, but I can't find any instructions on any sites or searches here. I've got the underdash panel removed and I know I have to remove the 2 retaining bolts from the firewall, but what comes next

I thought...

I thought all the adjustment was at the end of the master cylinder rod where it connects to your clutch pedal, in which case you wouldn't have to remove the 2 retaining bolts. Just remove the C clip thingy at the pedal to remove the shaft from the pedal and adjust there. I have a street twin, but haven't had to adjust yet. Hope that helps you out.

Hey Ken,
Thanks a lot man, I've been stressin all day on this and that reallly helped.

For some reason, my c-clip thing doesn't fit snug on there anymore and I'm afraid it won't hold well.

Unfortunately, I'm trying to get rid of this morbidly, loud screeching/grinding noise and adjusting the mc helped quiet a bit but now my clutch pedal is only a couple inches off the floor. Is this bad?

I drove my car over to Mcleod yesterday and the tech was even baffled at the noise and its occurrence.

If I remember...

If I remember right, I think that might have had something to do with the small bolt and insert that is in the clutch fork. Do a search on this board for something like that. That part might have to be ground down a bit. Don't think your pedal should be that low. Hope this helps. There is info on the board about that screeching problem if it's the same thing.

update and quesiton

After adjusting the master cylinder, today, the noise my clutch was making is now barely audible but I know it is still there and the problem was not solved. Plus, my clutch pedal is now only a couple of inches off the floor and I don't like it there.

I know Roguedriver mentioned that others had a similar problem and fixed this by shaving some of the clutch fork down. I wanted to know what part of the clutch fork was actually shaved down so I can let a mechanic know what to look for.

Thanks
