who builds the best 4L60E?
first off, i don't want this to be a bash off thread just honest opinions and experiences. im gonna be getting ready to purchase a tranny soon in the next few months hopefully and since i am in canada, i want it done right and done once, no time or patience for issues. just want a quality build that will work as promised/advertised.
looking to start off in the n/a ~450rwhp area, eventually looking to upgrade to a power adder next year, 600+rwhp. 80% street/20% track use. so far the companies ive had my eye on are:
- performabuilt
- FLT transmissions
- pro built automatics
- rossler
- ???
looking to lay down a max of 2700-3000 w/o converter. who's got some feedback on some of these trannies/companies? or anyone know of another bad *** builder that is not on the list possibly? this will be a 4L60E behind a 383 LT1.

Rossler would get my vote for absolute best.
Are you familiar with Jeff Green's Impala? 1400hp, full weight, stuck in the low 9s because the 8.5" axle can't handle a real launch with the power he has.
Rossler built that, now that is more tranny than you would need.
I have a ProBuilt that is like 8 years old and I am very happy with it, he has a few in the 9s in f-bodies but Rossler's tranny in that Impala still takes the cake for most extreme application of a 4L60E.

Performabuilt. My car puts down the numbers you're looking for and has their level 2. I've been beating it up for 3 years now and it's still kicking ***. Good price, too.
