What would keep a T56 from going into Reverse
What would keep a T56 from going into Reverse
I just got mywinter projects done. New plugs, wires, under drive pulley, Vortech elbow, Strut tower brace, LCA's and a pan hard rod. Took it out for a drive, backed it out of the garage... everything was fine. Got to the school to pick my wife up and I could no tget the shifter over into reverse. What could cause this?
Re: What would keep a T56 from going into Reverse
Can you get it into reverse with the key on, but engine not running?
If so, it's not the solenoid.
If not, the reverse lockout solenoid could've gone bad (or CAGS incorrectly installed on the reverse lockout instead, as stated above).
Check the connectors at the back of the transmission.

Re: What would keep a T56 from going into Reverse
The CAGS Eliminator has been on my car now for over a year. No problems before tonight.
So... if I can get in reverse with the key off, but not when its on then the solinoid is the problem.
But if thats no it... then somethign else is up?

You have to turn the key forward to the RUN position and be going under 3mph for the solenoid to activate and let you into reverse.
