What type of resistor to disable CAGS?

What type of resistor to disable CAGS?

I have a 96 car, I know I need a resistor to put in the CAGS wire which comes from the solenoid. What kind do I need, thanks.

I used a 2.2K 1/4 watt axial lead resistor with no problems.
