What size welds? Brakes?

Hello- I am looking at getting a set of weld draglites. I wanted to get a set of 15x3.5's, and 15x10's.

My question is- what backspacing should I get? What do you guys use?
Also, if I wanted to get a set of front brakes (a new system), what are my options? Does willwood make a lightweight set for the street? Is Baer lighter than stock? They've got some great pricing out there.

Thanks!

Re: What size welds? Brakes?

Be very careful running a frontrunner on the street. Weld will not warranty it if its used on the street and 3.5s have broken in half under hard turning conditions on the street. I run a 15x6 Pro Star XP.

Also keep in mind that your new brake system will need to clear 15 inch wheels.
the bigger ones won,t allow use of a 15 inch wheel.
For the rear I run a 15x10 Pro Star with 5.5 BS, they stick out of the fender but I like it that way. On a 15x10 you would want a 6.5 BS or if you don,t mind modifying a little bit you can run 7.5 BS and really tuck em in there.
On an 8 inch wide rim you can run a 5.5 without it looking too bad, in fact I think its just rite.

Hey Steve: how are you? Anyway, there are guys over in the "Drag Racing" forum that know the ins and outs of skinnies on a 4th gen front end. I looked into it and since big brakes were more important to me than a couple of lbs off the front end, I ditched the idea. Why doesn't someone make a 16" "skinny"?
