what is an lt4 clutch? differences?

I have heard about an lt4 clutch somewhere. Is it actually different than a stock lt1 t56 clutch?

I replaced my clutch with a stocker before my mods. I have not beat on the clutch much at all, just a couple burn outs. Well, it seems to me that my clutch should be grabbing better. Its got probably 20k on it.

Anyone have some good advice? Besides the clutch, is there any mods that you think I definately should have done to compliment the mods I have now?

the LT4 as far as i know has a slightly different pressure plate that is a little more handling capacity. alot of factory replacement or clutches made for bolt on cars will come with upgraded LT4 style pressure plates. i know my Ram powergrip has an "LT4 style" pressure plate and the only difference between my 500 dollar Ram and the 380 dollar Ram clutch is the disc, it has a different material on the flywheel side if i remember correctly, but the pressure plate is the same. it is good for a decent amount of power. the 500 dollar powergrip i got from summit is rated for like 500 horse, so the LT4 PP should be pretty good. with yours mods, i would recommend the Powergrip at least. i went with Ram because they are the one company ive not heard one bad thing about for clutches besides Mcleod which is $$$. but Spec and Centerforce always seem to be hit or miss. some people love them some hate them. i love my Ram and have always heard the same from others.

69 z-28 .. i tried sending you a pm but your box is full. i've got a 95 lt1 with long tubes, 4" catback, cc305 cam, cai, 52mm tb, and some other non-huge hp nonsense.. and i've narrowed it down to the mcleod single disc and ram powergrip. do you get any chatter when taking off driving around town? ram's website says you may get some. does it feel close to stock?
