What kind of T-56

I am currently converting a 3rd gen 5 speed to a T-56, but first i need to get one. Do i need to get one from a chevy or are they the same for other makes? Probably not, but i had to ask..

The body is the same, but the tailhousing and face plate/bellhousing are different.

Another ? though, how much HP/Torque can a stock T-56 take from a camaro?

Also when i was lookin it up there was a M28 and a M29 model i think, something like that, what's the difference?

M29 was only offered in 93 and has deeper gear ratios than the M28. Stock T56's from a F-body can handle a lot of power before they break. Even then you can get it upgraded with cryo/micronite parts or "Viperize" it iwth larger input/output shafts and what not. If you search you can find some good info, also there are T56's for sale all the time so finding one won't be hard.

The easiest swap for the 3rd gen is what's called an aftermarket T56. With an adapter it will bolt on to a blowproof bellhousing and put your shifter in the correct location. Call D&D for help.
