What to do with clutch fork before slave install?

What to do with clutch fork before slave install?

I've got everything back up except for the slave cylinder. I remember I had to pull the for down before I took the tranny down. Now do I have to click it back in place or something?

The fork needs to be pushed back in, making sure that the fingers are in the T/O bearing. You should hear a definite "shap" as the retainer spring engages the t-post that the fork pivots on.

So which way must I move the fork to engage it?
Was I supposed to engage it while the tranny was down?
