What clutch for cc306 + full bolt-ons?

I recently blew my clutch and Im in the market for a new one. Im not looking for something that's gonna hurt my wallet, which was why I was going to buy a new AC Delco unit since its been working fairly well with my setup. I hardly drive the car, with the exception of going out on weekends to grab some lunch with my g/f. It sees about 20miles/month and has been sitting in the garage for about 9 months now.

I was wondering what you clutch you guys are using for a similar setup? How much power does the AC Delco clutch hold, or an Autozone clutch kit with a McCleod disk? Both seem to be better options for me since I hardly drive the car.

My stock clutch is holding up fine with 110K miles. Heads and cam for half that. I would recommend a stock replacement for the money. How much are they anyhow?

you may consider a lt4 clutch and pressure plate or mcleod single disk with a lt4 pressure plate. with the full bolt ons and cc306 you should upgrade your clutch.

My stock clutch never slipped or gave me problems, it just blew up for no reason last week. Well.....I went WOT through 1-2 and the clutch pedal never came back up after 3rd wouldnt go it for some reason. The pedal had no pressure and stayed down the whole time after. Once I got around to pulling the slave cyclinder a bunch of clutch material fell out. It looked like dried up grass, so Im guessing the clutch just grenaded.

The stock clutch disc is not very good at holding more than it was designed for, especially with more power and some powershifting. I would spend the extra money and get a decent disc that will hold what you are going to throw at it and then some. Besides, it's not exactly a fun job dropping the tranny after your clutch goes out on you.

id recommend either a spec stage 3 or ram powergrip. either will hold your power with no problems and they are both reasonably priced, under 500 for the new pp and disc.

id also definitely recommend getting your flywheel cut.. its worth the 35-50 bucks

spec, ram, or mcloed. Do it right, do it once.

Get the McLeod disk with a LT4 pressure plate. Delsoto runs that setup on his 440rwhp/390rwtq car.

I went with a Spec Stage 3 and the Spec Billet Flywheel in early preparation for 450 RWHP and some heavy launching.

I pulled it apart a few nights ago, sad to say its toast LOL!!! Im looking at a clutch from clutchnet, which seems like a decent product. They recommended this disk for the intended usage(strip/ w/ limited street use).

Here's what my clutch looked like when I pulled it off.

I use a Ram Powergrip HD with the stock flywheel. Been in for 20k miles with the 306, and 10k with ported heads and a 100 shot on 315 BFG drag radials. 100% confidence in that clutch man.
