What about this t56 conversion kit??

http://www.tennesseeauto.com/t56swkitforl.html

I am looking into converting my A4 to aT56 and found this kit. Has anyone heard anything good about this site and what do you think about the kit. It looks like it takes care of everthing accept the pedals. Is there any thing else I should look for like upgrading the the clutch. I currently am running a fairly stock car, but will be upgrading soon. This car is my current daily driver. Any help is appreciated.

That kit is way to high for a conversion. I guess maybee b/c they supply a new clutch and shifter. But there are kits cheaper than that on ebay that go for about 1500 that incluse pedals. i would make that my last option as far as conversions go.

Re: What about this t56 conversion kit??

I bought my conversion kit from them when they were still speedautomotive. They were in the process of changing shops/names when i bought the kit from them. It was 1500 + shipping for everything, but was just a basic take-out of the salvage car with no new parts. The new spec clutch and PP, shifter, and hydraulics they list probably account for 800 or so on top of an original 1500 tag. FWIW, after i bought the kit from them i decided not to reuse the original stock stuff and purchased a LT4 PP, new clutch disk, shifter w/****, and hydraulics. After which, i had close to 2300 total in the swap before it went in the car. Then after gears and PCM programming it was close to 2800. Search under my SN for "M6 conversion" and you'll find my old threads detailing the swap from start to finish. It's a little more pricey than you think when all is said and done.

And I, for the life of me, can't figure out what killed my T56 either. It worked great for over a year and 23k miles... and then all of a sudden it crapped out on me in one day just driving it around easy. I doubt it had anything to do with the company though. If it had known problems before then it wouldn't have lasted as long as it did. At least not without some tell-tale symptoms, which it didn't have.

Re: What about this t56 conversion kit??

The used kits still can be had for $1595 and both kits do include the pedals. If you try to take a used kit then rebuilt it $550 min, new clutch and pp from spec $429 hurst shifter $179, new hydrulics $220, plus resurface flywheel $50, it totals to be $1428 plus $1595 for a used kit. Its a little over $3000 if you do it that way.

Thanks Scott
