What about 4:56 gears

What about 4:56 gears

I have 94 camaro with a 6 speed trans could I go to a 456 gear and still drive it on the freeway. I dont drive on the freeway but just in a great once in awhile -

It can be done but the gears (teeth) are going to be weak. Ton of people brake the 4.10s with not problems. If you were to go to a better rear then I would not hesitate if it were a strip car.

Heh! Plug it in on the f-body.org/gears chart! It actually doesn't look like you'd be screaming the motor much at all?! 2400 RPM to do 80 mph?? That's not bad! It's not much higher than my 2.73 geared A4 runs to do 80 mph!

I'm pretty sure a couple of the ZL-1 cars were built with 4.56's (I'm just not sure if they used the stock 10-bolt or not? ).
