went to track, now weird noise? help please!!

this morning i went out for a drive and there is a weird clicking noise where the DS meets the rear end. my brother told me its because a bolt from the bearings is loose, the pinion bolt or something like that. i really need to figure it out cuz i dont want to blow up the rear or anything. tonight i have to work and i dont want to be stranded on the highway or anything. does anyone have a clue what it is? any help is appreciated

I'd get under there and do some investigating... spin the wheels w/ them in the air listen and possibly pull the rear end cover and take a gander in there...
