Weeee'rrrre baaaaack! The rebirth of CPT
As many of you may know, we've been down for the past 2 months. The reason was pretty simple, although it got a little complicated at times.
We ran into a few problems with the previous garage we were renting. When CPT was first started, it was never intended to become as big as what it did. It was mostly started because of my association with the 4th gen F-Body community. I saw all the problems people were having with their
700/4L60E's, and I knew I could do better. These were severely misunderstood transmissions. I brought 16 years worth of buiding racing transmissions into CPT. Originally, I had only planned on building a few transmissions for some local guys. These were done "on the side" from my normal 40 hour a week transmission building job. It didn't take long for the word and reputation to spread. We were soon buried under transmission that were shipped to us from all over the country.
Our problems with the garage were routed by the fact that the garage was owned by my uncle. Everyone please take my word for this...Don't ever do buisness with a family member!!! It ended up with him trying to control too much of my buisness, which he wasn't really a part of. The garage was too small, too expensive, and the floor flooded every time it rained...LOL
After some serious disagreements with my uncle, we decided to move out 2 months ago with the intentions of moving into another garage immediately. That idea didn't go as planned. The search for a garage proved to be much more difficult than we though, and all of our shop equipment was put in storage.
To further complicate matters, I also found out at this time that my relationship with my fiancee (Alex) had some serious issues I didn't realize. These issues led to her leaving me. If any of you know about our buisness, you know that Alex wasn't only my fiancee, but she was my buisness partner and my best friend as well. She had been working with me at CPT for over a year. She started out cleaning parts, and then moved to disassembly, and was learning to build. At that time, things looked pretty dim and hopeless. I was to the point of giving up on everything a few times. I know it doesn't sound professional to think that way, but I'm sure if any of you have ever been in that situation, you can understand what I was going through.
Still...eventhough Alex wasn't with me, I continued to look for a garage...with no success. I felt terrible because I had 2 customers transmissions in storage that had been sent to me before we moved. I was hoping that I'd find a garage any time, and could get them done. Unfortunately, time ran out on one of them, and I had to send it back to North Dakota without ever working on it. Fortunately, the other customer is being very patient, and I've still got his. "Grease", if you're reading this, thank you...Your patience will be rewarded with a substantial discount!
So, let's fast forward to today. Well, I'm happy to say that Alex and I have worked things out, and we're back together and stronger than ever. After our reconciliation, we came across a house with a 3 car garage behind it. We're moving into it next week! The new garage has much more room, and the fact that it's at our house will make it more convenient for both us and our customers. We're confident that we will be able to grow "bigger and better" than we have ever been.
I'd like to sincerely appologize to anyone who this "down time" may have affected. Some of the things that have happened were just beyond my control.
Thank You,
Frank Cahall

Now this Vigilante can finally stop collecting dust and go to it's soon-to-be new home. I'll be in touch shortly Frank.
If you need the spindles now just let me know and I'll run them down to you on the weekend.

Great news that things are starting to fall back into place for ya Frank, you deserve it as I can say my experiance with CPT was top-notch. It's really hard to get good customer service these days, especially when it is backed up by true knowledge and skill. Your tranny is the best I have ever driven. Good luck to you in the future.

X2
On a side note, I have beat the crap out of my transmission at the track (and a little on the street) and it still tries to break my neck on the 1-2 shift
. It shifts hard enought to have broke 2 transmission mounts.
I guess I need to buy better ones than the ones at autozone. LOL. Thanks for the quality build. I was wondering were you went. Glad to see things are looking up for you.

Even though I am a loyal Pro-built fan I am glad to hear that you worked through your troubles and came out ahead. Sounds like the new setup will be awesome, bet you are very excited.

Great news Frank, glad everything is working out...
I guess this is why I got that voicemail the other day (btw, sorry I haven't gotten back to you) about needing a hand lifting some heavy stuff. Just let me know when and I will do my best to be there as long as it's before the 19th because I will be gone for business again for a week, just let me know...
Talk to you later,
John
P.S. My CPT tranny still rocks after over 12K miles and hundreds of 1.8x 60's on my pretty much stock/bolt-on car...
