Can the average person install a Vigilante TC with the average tools? How hard would it be? TIA

Re: Vigilante TC Install???

You are doing a V8 swap, right? Then the trans should be out of the car. You have to fully seat the converter on the input shaft engaging the splines. You rotate the converter as it seats and you should hear 3 "clicks" as it seats. When you istall the trans back in the car you should have to pull the conveter slightly toward the flex plate to bolt it up. Its not real hard, but if you haven't done one before I'd let a trans guy do it. Its real easy to do it wrong and break the front pump in the transmission. With transmissions I leave it to the experts, that way its never an issue of "who's fault is it?" when something breaks..

Re: Vigilante TC Install???

I ask because I haven't been able to find a decent price one yet, and the completion of the swap is comming to an end. They said I should have the car back Mon. So I was thinking down the road if I can find one, how hard would it be for me to attempt to put it in myself. They said now's the time to do it, but just can't find one I can afford. Don't wan't to spend $700 for a new one. Thanks again for the replies.
