Vibration through the shifter and clutch?

When I went to test drive z28 today I felt slight vibration that was coming through the clutch pedal and the shifter. Car itself was not vibrating or shaking, just the clutch pedal and the shifter... Is that normal for these cars? btw is was a 2000 z with only 37k mi on it.

Don't want to run into some problem right after buying a car.

Please help fast!!

thanks a lot

Re: Vibration through the shifter and clutch?

How are you feeling this vibration? By putting your foot to the pedal and hand on the shifter while driving? Or, is it something you feel resonating through the car? It would be normal to feel some vibration in the first example and not the second IMO. If it increases with RPM, I would be concerned.

Re: Vibration through the shifter and clutch?

I feel it only when I touch the pedal or shifter. Pretty sure it was just in 1st and some in second. I will be driving the car tomorrow again at higher speeds and see how it feels.

Re: Vibration through the shifter and clutch?

Do you think it may have an aftermaret shift stick?

After I did my B&M, I immediatly noticed a vibration coming through it that was not there when the stocker was in.

Turns out there are rubber supports in the stock shifter to deaden it.

Don't know about the clutch though........
