vette servo

what exactly is this? got my transmission rebuilt and they said this was in it, i heard it is somethin to do with a shift kit? not really sure, id love some input though.

Its the servo that shifts the gears (not literally). There are two in the trans, and if I remember right the F-bodies got corvette servos from the factory. I could be wrong there though.

The Third gens didn't have it. You couldn't be in O/D at full throttle beacuase the transmission would downshift. It limits the top speed of the car and it was common to upgrade to the Corvette Servo.

The fourth gens didn't have this issue.
