A cam swap, or should I go with 1.6rr if so what gains to expect and any cam recommendations? 112824 miles on a 305 tpi

I'm in the same boat as you. With that many miles you start doing cam swaps to a bigger cam and rockers your are asking for trouble. It will probably run fine for a bit but you are asking a motor that has a ton of miles to start performing with worn out parts and pieces. So IMO your short term gain is going to cost you a motor rebuild sooner than it porbably would have.

I dunno. It's not like a cam is going to add 100hp and a ton of extra cylinder pressure. It would probably be wise to replace the valve springs at the same time though.
